Hey fellas!! After a long rest we’re back here with Mionix Naos 3200 Usb wired led optical 3200 dpi mouse review. If you are seeking a mouse which is pretty qualified for gaming and also a friend of your wallet, I suggest you keep reading patiently, because here we go!!
Mionix Naos 3200 is the smallest cousin of Naos family from the Swedish Mionix brand. Mionix Naos 3200 of course has some absent features when compared to models Mionix Naos 7000 and 8200, but hey, this doesn’t make Mionix Naos 3200 a bad choice. In fact, it’s a great mouse which can suit all the needs of one who exactly knows what he/she wants. That’s why I’m always telling for who mice are.
Let’s make it clear who this mouse is for from the beginning not to make you stand there impatiently.
Mionix Naos 3200 is one of the best alternative weapons of choice for the budget gamers who seek ultimate comfort and great performance during their gaming and day-to-day tasks for a really cheap price. Mionix Naos is a great friend for middle and upper class gamers who are aware that design matters.
Mionix Naos 3200 has some significant features like incredible ergonomics, customizable tracking and relatively cheap price which are some of the plusses making you consider having one of these beauties. We will in detail get into all this stuff, but let’s start out with some general scheme of Mionix Naos 3200 shouldn’t we?? Hold on cuz’ we’re getting into details!!!

Packaging and the whole design concept reminds me of Razer with the black background and some green colors here and there. This is one of my favourite combinations which gives me the “radioactive” feels.
Mionix 3200 comes in a clean designed box with black background and green writings, which are completed with a glorious mouse presentation at the middle with some gloomy light effects. At first sight it achieves success obtaining attention of it’s observers.
When you open the magneted box you will notice the mouse itself majorly standing there and also a little black handbook thingy.
You may be used to mice which come with lots of extra stuff in the box like stickers and etc.. But Mionix Naos 3200 decided to be a little minimalistic about it and provided us with the most necessary and simplest stuff in the welcoming box. It doesn’t even have a software installation CD.
Wait, WHAT?? NO SOFTWARE CD?? IS THIS A NIGHTMARE?!?! Ow come on, chill out.. Mionix has already thinked about that. The software is available for dowload trough their own site and the little black handbook thingy also says the same about the software, so, nothing to worry about..
Actually this is a thing that many manufacturers started implementing for the ecological and financial purposes. It’s, in my opinion as a nature lover, a good development to cut from additional paper, and also friendly for our wallet and the manufacturer. Everyone’s happy, right??
If you want the software, you can download it from here. You will see a “Downloads” section button by clicking you can find the links for quick start guide, software and software manual downloads.
Now let’s talk more about the design of this charming baby!
The Award-Winning Ergonomic Design
The most significant feature of Mionix Naos 3200 (and all other Mionix Naos models) is definitely it’s award winning ergonomic design. Even just by looking at it you can have a good guess about how well it will suit to your hand.
Mionix Naos is actually pretty simplistic and minimalistic when it comes to design. It’s not a bad thing, there are many types of mice designs and this is one of the minimalistic types. There are also big manufacturers who dominate the gaming peripherals industry with ultra simplistic yet pretty quality mice. Razer Deathadder can be a good example for this. Else of that, you can check the photo below to compare Naos 3200 (left) and a Razer product in ergonomics. You’ll see the difference immediately, they’re both great peripherals and I love each of them equally.
It’s quality and comfort is verified by many users. Ergonomics of this mouse makes Mionix Naos 3200 one of the best variants for extended comfortable gaming or daily purposes. Another significant advantage of this ultra ergonomic design is the health benefit. It eliminats/lowers the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome. Ergonomics and comfort are important factors for your health, especially if you are using your mouse everyday for long hours.
And I don’t have to mention the rubber grip material which in every touch gets me turned on… Rubber surfaceis one of my favourite materials on mice and I can guess many of you have a fetish on rubber, right?? You kinky bastards…
The arching back of the mouse is showing itself on first sight. You can also notice the finger rests with those curved bumps and bulges which fit great. Some users even comment that it fits like a glow. You can guess that it’s a claw-palm grip mouse even just by looking at it. It’s meant to be a little larger(just my type) than some simple $5 mouse to fit well into your hand.
There are 7 buttons that we can use which are left and right mouse button, two side buttons, two top buttons for dpi adjustment and mouse wheel. The two side buttons are set as “back” and “forward” on a web browser as default.
Mionix 3200 has a strong black braided cable with a gold plated USB connector. Braide is pretty strong and will be providing a good support for your cable against deformations. Also wired mice are known to be faster when it comes to responding.
What About The Software??
Software interface of Mionix Naos 3200 is actually pretty user friendly and good looking. It remindds me so much of Razer’s software Razer Synapse with it’s black background.
Software of Mionix Naos 3200 is a little bit limited when compared to Mionix Naos 5000. It doesn’t have some features Naos 5000 has like surface testing. That’s the main difference. If you are a person who likes/wants to compare surface performance of your mouse on different surfaces, you may get a little upset about it. But hey, you can always get a Naos 5000 just with a few bucks extra. It’s of course better when compared to Naos 3200, but that’s a subect that we will talk about on another article. So, what does Mionix Naos 3200 software has??
There are four main menus on the software, which are “Mouse Settings”, “Custom Settings”, “Macro Settings” and “Support”.
At “Mouse Settings” menu you can adjust and optimize your mouse buttons, speed of double click, scroll speed and mouse pointer aceleration. Mionix Naos shows us it’s generosity by allowing the cutomization of ALL it’s buttons. You can customize two side buttons, the scroll wheel button, two buttons at the back of scroll wheel and of course the left and right mouse buttons.
You can also adjust double click speed, scroll speed and pointer acceleration. You can also switch off the pointer acceleration, which is a wise choice if you’re a hardcore gamer who plays dynamic games like Call of Duty or Battlefield. You wouldn’t like to miss a target with a few millimeters just because of an accelerated pointer.
When we move on to the “Custom Settings” tab we can see the DPI settings, pointer speed, polling rate and LED effects customization. You can customize the colors to indicate a certain DPI, which is a fantastic feature. Almost every professional gaming mouse with DPI adjusment has this style of customization. The thing is that there are 3 stable colors you can attend DPIs to.I like the fact that you can make one of the colors linked to a certain DPI, but I’m disappointed that you can’t customize them beyond the three included colors and you can’t change the order in which they go. It’ll always be red, then green, then blue.
There are no other color options else of the 3 red, blue and green. I don’t know what you will think about it. You may say it could be more and etc.. but it’s certain that it does the job pretty well. Of course you can’t compare it to the Razer Chroma series mice like Razer Deathadder and Razer Mamba. But for the price it’s more than enough, in my opinion. If you seek a mouse with more oppurtunities and customization, there are plenty of them in our Reviews section, so don’t forget to check out!
After that, we don’t have much in other sub-categories “Macro settings and”Support”. From “Macro Settings” you can create new macros for your mouse button and get online support when needed, also can update your software.
“Macro Settings” and “Support”.
How It Differs From Previous Designs
Mionix Naos 3200 is of course not the only kid in the family. It also has 2 bigger cousins: Mionix Naos 7000 and 8200. But what are the true differences between these sibling mice?
Actually, it’s all about tracking and sensor quality with a few more adjustment options. In ergonomics, all the Mionix Naos serie is almost the same. They’re all pretty comfortable and extremely ergonomic.
The point where they differ are their sensors and a few additional software features. Mionix Naos 3200 has an 3200 DPI optical sensor while Naos 7000 and 8200 have 7000 DPI and 8200 DPI sensors. (Pretty obvious, isn’t it??)
And differing from Naos 3200, the bigger siblings Naos 7200 and 8200 have a feature for surface analysis. It’s called the “S.Q.A.T – Surface Quality Analyzer Tool”. (Did anyone else remember G.O.A.T. from Fallout when first heard??)
What this Sci-Fi sounding tool does? Of course it does analysis of the surface which your mouse operates on. This feature is one of the all-time favourites for hardcore gamers who like to engineer their gaming rig to the last scratch, which involves gaming mice. You can test your mouse on various surfaces and see on which surface it acts better by looking into parameters. You can improve your performance with right surface especially if you’re involved in dynamic FPS/RPG games like Battlefield or Call of Duty.
Maybe you want to test your new mouse mat to see if it’s the real deal? Examples can go on, but I think you got the idea..
So, let’s cut to the chase: What’s the main difference between Mionix Naos 3200 and Naos 7000-8200??
Naos 7000 and 8200 have the additional Surface Analysis tool while Naos 3200 doesn’t. Also Naos 7000 and 8200 have pretty higher DPI rates. And Naos 7000 and 8200 has lift off distance adjustability feature.
SO, WHICH ONE YOU SHOULD GET???
If you want to enjoy the ultimate ergonomics of Mionix Naos with a gaming setup which doesn’t have ultra high 4K screen resolution and you’re a comfortable gamer with a budget who doesn’t want to spend extra money on higher models: then GET A MIONIX NAOS 3200
But, if you want the most out of your gaming peripheral with more DPI to push it to the limits with extra, have money to spend on better equipment, want more customization and additional useful tools like Surface Analysis and still enjoy the incredible ergonomics: then get yourself a MIONIX NAOS 7000 or MIONIX NAOS 8200 Multi-Color Ergonomic Optical Gaming Mouse !!!
Many gamers would be happy to hear that Mionix Naos 3200 has a 3200 DPI optical sensor.
Sensor also has a 3.5 mm lift distance and 1 ms response time. But if we have to sum up everything in a detail we can make a list of tracking specifications like this:
3200 DPI gaming LED-Optical Sensor
3.5 mm lift distance
1 ms response time
Tracking speed: 1 m/sec (40 ips)
5.8 megapixels/sec image processing
Acceleration: 15 g
True 16-bit data path
This draws us the portrait of a typical optical gaming sensor. This is a good and standard setup of a gaming mouse sensor for comfortable gaming, the examples of which are pretty similar in some of serious gaming mice. I have no doubt that it will satisfy all your comfortable gaming needs without any problem.
Mionix Naos gives you 3 DPI options which are 800/1600/3200 DPI. These numbers are hardwired, means that you can’t set your DPI to a different value than these given like 1200 or 2400 DPI. 800/1600/3200 DPI options are quite enough for comfortable gaming, but that’s my opinion of course.
Most of users find their sweet spot between 1600 and 4800 dpi. If you’re using an ultra wide 4k screen you may from time to time seek higher dpi for comfort. But this set of DPI range is pretty well calibrated for a comfortable gamer. There will be times during gaming where you need to lower DPI like precision sniping and times higher DPI is necessary like close-mid quarter assault combat.
What Others Think About It??
I must admit that Mionix Naos has pretty impressive positive user comments from actual buyers. Looking at real user comments is one of the best ways to evaluate a product, that’s why I always try to give you people the best service by including not only my opinion, but other users’ also. Without opinions of multiple sources, what’s the value of a review, right??
Mionix Naos 3200 has obtained a rank of 4.2 stars out of 5 (4.2 /5) from 341 user reviews, which is more than enough to have an opinion about this gaming peripheral.
Are all the comments high rated?? Of course not. Every user is different and not everyone will have the same outcome from a product, so it’s completely normal to see both positive and negative comments. But Mionix Naos 3200 got rated with 4 stars and higher by a user percentage of %80. This assures that Mionix Naos is a good buy.
Here are some of those comments presented. If you want to read all the comments and QAs, don’t stay there and check them out from Amazon.com.
So, now you know what this bad boy Mionix Naos 3200 is all about. At the end, you may come to this conclusion: If you want a big and comfortable mouse with incredible ergonomics, good durability, satisfying switchable tracking for comfortable gamers and to keep your wallet still fat, then don’t just stand there and GET A MIONIX NAOS 3200.
