Outlast doctorHello fellow horror addicts! I have great news for you. I know that you fell in love with the first outlast video game and you crave for more. I think we all adrenaline seekers will get what we want so soon.

First Outlast video game was kind of an impact to the horror gaming industry. It was related as one of the scariest games. Why was it? I think it was unique by its storyline and the way of connecting with the players. It wasn’t just a simple game, but was also an aproach to the dark and dirty side of human psychology.

The second game of the sequel, Outlast 2 is not expected to be out till fall 2016, but Red Barrels is working hard on it and they state that it will be even more promising than the first game. Rumors are that Outlast 2 will be testing your faith.

The two main subjects which provide the horror element are jumpscares and the feeling of despair. In game you don’t have anything in your hands to defend yourself, which puts you into a complete despair where you always have to run and hide. And there are endless pop-ups which i don’t have to mention.

Here is the new teaser for Outlast 2. Enjoy it!!!

I liked your gaming mouse explanation. I’d say I’m more of a palm grip mouse user. I’d can’t imagine having a finger tip grip as that would just be tiring to have to elevate your hand so that it does not rest on the mouse.

I’m not much of a heavy gamer, I play a few games here and there so for me the type of mouse I use is just a standard optical mouse. For more advanced games like FPS, RTS, etc, I’d imagine that the sensitivity on the mouse would be more important. I just don’t see much of a difference for me, but the metaphor you made with the mouse being like your weapon makes it understandable.

Well optical seems better usually but the big percent of gamers are casual and non-profesional gamers, so it actually doesn’t matter now as soon you can turn off your mouse acceleration. It’s the thing with preferance. Just need to sum up every feature and decide weather it is for you or not.

Oh man, I have been out of the gaming loop for quite a while now. I had to look up the first Outlast because I’d never heard of it. These games sound like they are right up my alley. Can you tell me how much adult (sexual) content there was in the first one? This is probably something I want to try but I’ll have to play it when the kids aren’t around if there is too much.

First Outlast was EPIC! It actually was the game which made a blast and changed all the understanding of horror game world. There is not much sexual content, but there are scenes of some asylum inmates masturbating and naked guys with butcher knifes chasing you. Else of that there also are MANY disturbing scenes like beheaded heads lined up on the shelf, body parts in the toilet and many others. Pretty fun actually.

    Duru,

Thanks for letting us know about the teaser for Outlast II. I’ve never head of the Outlast series of games, but the trailer is definitely very interesting.

Survival horror? I’ve really enjoyed such games in the past — Silent Hill comes to mind. I also like the fact that the developer is Canadian, since I’m Canadian myself and one of my favourite games of all time, Dragon Age: Origins, was made by a Canadian developer.

I’ll definitely keep an eye out for info and new developments on Outlast II. Thanks again.

Oh good god… That is intense. The trailer is horrifically terrifying – I LOVE IT! Thanks for the heads up. I didn’t even know this was coming out. I remember playing the first one and it was great. I can’t wait until the fall to get my hands on this! Get the adrenaline flowing and all that haha.

Yeah, can you imagine that developers had warned us because the sequel is going to be even more horrifying than the first one. Even the first game made me stock diapers to my house, can’t imagine what is coming. Let’s wait and see.

I lol’d at that title. I just saw some Outlast 2 footage the other day – Late at night, no less. I was watching NukemDukem play it, and it looked even scarier than the first game.

Personally, I CANNOT play horror games – Period. I would absolutely need a diaper. However, I have this strange addiction to watching youtubers play through them – It’s like I WANT to be scared and have nightmares for the next week.

In all seriousness, I guess it gives me a sense of security knowing I’m not really fully immersed in the game.

I know that feeling well)) Actually I’m a horror addict and I love that feeling of goosebumps. Adrenaline rush during the intense times and the unstability in the gameflow is just what I need.
