The classic games library of Sega from the Master System to Dreamcast now has a new home and it’s called SEGA Forever. Sega Forever is a mobile app for iOS and Android which makes a satisfying list of classical SEGA games free to play for everyone. The list includes Sonic The Hedgehog, The Revenge of Shinobi, Altered Beast, Phantasy Star 2, Kid Chameleon and Comix Zone for now.

The program is ad-supported and players who would like to enjoy a purer experience can pay $1.99 for an ad-free life in Sega Forever. The same will be applied to future titles also.

I LOVE retro gaming and I definetely play retro games like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro and etc.. through emulator (Yes I also was a hardcore PS fanboy as a background). And it may not be for everyone. Every person’s taste is different and I’m not the one to judge it.

But if you ‘ve Sega’s idea and if you appreciate retro gaming COMMENT down below from the comments section and don’t forget to SHARE!!. Because SHARING IS CARING!!

This is great. as an ” old” gamer myself, Sega was a big part of my life growing up. I still have a Genesis somewhere around the house. Do you know how frequently Sega will be adding games to the APP? Will the price of the games vary? I can’t wait to download the app. thanks for the information.

      Yeah right?!

I’m still playing emulated games of retro taste, but this is a great oppurtunity for the nes who aren’t that much hands on when it comes to the technical sides of things. Just dowload and play, like your common everyday mobile games.

There was a rumour that they were going to release games biweekly but as it appears it takes more time than that. And I also can understand Sega trying not to give old that shiny gold at once to the players. Not even mentioning the fact that it’s free. And companies don’t like giving away stuff for free 😀

Price of games – that kind of term doesn’t exist because they’re FREE 🙂 But ad-free gameplay is available for a little price around 1.99 USD.

Glad to hear that they have made the games free.

I have been a huge fan of the Revenge of Shinobi, Phantasy Star 2, and Comic Zone. And I am happy to see that they have been included in the free package.

I wouldn’t want to use it with the ads so I am planning to pay the $1.99. But can I ask how I should solve the credit card issue as it doesn’t allow me to pay to games centres?

    • Tyler says:

      Hey Dave!

Also I was a Sonic The Hedgehog freak. Don’t know how many hours of my childhood has been dedicated to Sonic and retro games.

Have you tried to do pay it from GooglePlay or iOS store??
